Excellent! Any ideas how to get rid of the resize grip?
Open your Home folder
Press CTRL+H to reveal ‘hidden’ files
Locate the file named ‘.gtkrc-2.0′ (or create it if it is not there)
Right click on it and open with Gedit/text editor
Add the following code:

Code: Select all

style "default-style"
{
  GtkWindow::resize-grip-height = 0
  GtkWindow::resize-grip-width = 0
}

class "GtkWidget" style "default-style"

Seeing some pretty sweet Gnome 3 desktops starting to appear... I have myself just installed it (used a site explaining how to for Ubuntu) and now have to start looking into making it look as awesome as some of the ones on here...

LinuxMint-9 LTS Fluxbox Edition

Upgraded the kernel to 2.6.39
Firefox-4.0
tint2 and Conky

I am usually, an Xfce fanatic, but I love Openbox, as well.
Now, trying to learn about Fluxbox.
Surprisingly, Fluxbox is extremely well documented and has some great Wiki/Wiki pages.
Just as easy to customize as Openbox is. Light and super-fast.

I, for one, would love to see a Fluxbox and/or Openbox editions of LMDE. :D
Some nice work vrkalak, love the conky as well. :D

If you are familiar with how easy and fast Openbox works ... try Fluxbox.

I am finding Fluxbox to be easier to use and configure than Openbox.
And with Flux, I even have true 'transparent' right-click menus.
The Fluxbox 'right-click' menu is self-updating.

Wow, I love that fluxbox desktop. Hmm, I have totally newbie question: If I install fluxbox on LMDE, fluxbox option will appear in loginmenu and everything on my gnome desktop stays the same?

gnome-shell 3 on OpenSUSE.

I added a custom Applications Menu (an extension actually) to the standard top.panel. And it even works.

I am going after moving the "notification area" back to the top panel where it belongs and remove the bottom panel altogether.

Before or after that a transparent top panel.

It looks pretty cool to me! We also unofficially post other distros here too. I appreciate seeing what can be done with Gnome Shell Habitual. :D Very cool! :)

I've reworked my desktop a bit. LM 10 with XFCE, AWN at the top, sysmonitor from screenlets package. Changed background. I use Dolphin or Konqueror as my file manager.

Considering you "just got here from Ubuntu", you don't get to have an opinion for 800 more posts. :P
And in case you missed the start of the movie, ALL my desktops look exactly the same. Every distro, every time.
