Why'd you use GNOME if you're running Arch though? Most people do Arch to make a lightweight system that comes with what they want and nothing more. I'd probably do AwesomeWM or Xfce 4.8 if I tried to install Arch again (I'd also probably do Arch Hurd but that's only b/c it's got better multithreading due to being a microkernel).

I have not posted anything here in a long time so I thought I'd drop in and let everyone see my daily driver desktop. This is what I see and like every time I boot into Mint 10.

The background is from the Lord of the Rings distr. Search lotr on gnome-look.org

The icon set is Faenza Dark from the Faenza 0.8 package , again Gnome-look.org.

The window treatment is a custom combining the color scheme of Blueheart with the border of SotArtII, both from Gnome-look.org.

I just used gnome as the DE cos it was my first time installing and using Arch, and i just decided to choose something i was familiar with.

WOW U GUYS R GOOD. i like a simpler design better (and am just too damn lazy) so i just used a metacity theme and a wallpaper and futzed around with my login screen to match :P. im using minty-ambiance theme from linuxmint-art.org and a random wallpaper i found on google images :P

here is my new light desktop. i took peices of different themes and recolored a few then recolored the background with gimp to make this one.

I was wondering how busy I could make my wallpaper and still read it...sorta :lol: . But I didn't want to mess up my Mint desktops so here ya go...
