People here have some really awesome looking desktop. All I did was add transparency to my panels.
Anyways, here's my desktop:

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Up until just recently I've used the traditional two-panel Gnome setup with my Mint. Something triggered me to experiment with some different setups, and it resulted in something that I really like!
It's basicially the (current) default Mint-X-Metal theme, rearranged, and with the addition of a global menu and dock. Then, after the fact, I realized that it looks very similar to Mac OS. I personally don't care one way or the other. It's space-efficient, pleasant to look at, and VERY functional. Therefore, it works for me .

Looking good mdawgmike. Not many distros have such a nice looking default theme. I hate having anything stock but when Mint 10 came out I could not stop myself from using Mint X.
Anyways...I decided to experiment a little bit...
I know I said I cant stand KDE but Suse has a lot of extra features and ad-ons that Debian did not. Suse with KDE is much easier to use and it way more functional. And yes. I know I am uploading OpenSuse screenshots to a Mint forum but I just wanted to show it off seeing as I was just using Mint two days ago lol.

I agree with blacksilva about suse having the best kde setup.
Here are a few pics with Aurora Midnight (Green vresion)
Faenza-darkest
Gnome panel and AWN
Still no conky as it seems to be broken again.

@mmesantos1
Very elegant. Could you describe what theme it is, what icons, and other details? And what LSF stands for?
It would be great to have the same theme as GDM.
It would be great if there was a rule for this topic, as a sticky note, to give some details for those who want to get their desktop look the same.

Dolphin, I agree, and that is why I always put my theme details on. Also, very nice work, Marc, I like the black ad gold idea.dolphin wrote:@mmesantos1

First thank you Lou, Dolphin, Mintmaniac2 and oscar799. Appreciate the kudos.
Now @Dolphin, sorry did not post info about my theme, I generally do not unless someone ask for the info. But to answer your questions. Sorry again but this should be all the info needed for the theme. Let me know if you have any other questions. Almost forgot LSF stands for Linux Screenshot Forum: http://screenshotsfrlinux.freeforums.org/
Feel free to come by and check it out or even join and makes some posts, would love to see some of your screenies over there.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread
Changed things around, mainly took away Cairo Dock and added AWN (which I like a lot better).
I get all my backgrounds from http://interfacelift.com in case y'all were wondering.
