This is my linux mint 8 that came in the mail today. I bought a burnt cd off of electrodisc auctions on ebay lmao!.

Um, it was only 2.00$. Um here it is

Not much customized but I like it simple. I have a bar at the top you can see when my mouse isn't on it. It goes away.

For some reason it only caught half of my desktop. I had the regular on the right nothing change other than my pidgin always showing up.

Why do I have 25% wireless I went from ubuntu 9.04 100% to 25% helina linux mint8 confused?

Is that a bug in the script and should fix later?

when I update to ubuntu 9.10 it does the same thing.

You should make a new thread in the appropriate section for your wireless issues.

I love that wallpaper.

Id love to run conky but with my varied wallpaper collection and switching it every 15 mins (via drapes) and being only between n00b and apprentice jedi in the mint world I fail at it :( :)

Fluxbox edition running on a Virtual Machine (on a windows host *spit*, my machine at work; I'm not allowed to switch to Linux.)

The wallpaper image is Sunset on Mars, taken by the Spirit rover.

Running conky, a terminal, and the menu. I've not done much tweaking... yet.

(The setup on my home machine doesn't look wildly different)

I'm not into effects and glam (Fluxbox user here  ), but I put together a Gnome box for my son today with enough effects to make your eyes bleed. I went crazy with Compiz and emerald--lots of fire and spinning spheres and reflections--and he loved it. He is already telling all of his friends in the neighborhood how awesome Linux is and how he bets their Windows boxes cannot do what his does! He is 11 and requested a dragon theme, so I tried to oblige. I cannot show you the effects, but I can post basic screenies. (If anyone could tell me how to grab a screenshot while zoomed out of the cube, I'd appreciate it.)

The emerald theme is FireDragon and can be found here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. ... tent=98769
***I only used the emerald theme and the icons out of the 4 DLs under this listing, and the direct link to the icons is below in this post.***
The gtk window theme is Divinorum-Red and can be found here: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ ... tent=65533
***The red is in the theme pack with green and blue***
The icons are black-red and can be found here: http://leodragon0806.deviantart.com/art ... d-99211258
The wallpaper is not named, but can be found here: http://www.squidoo.com/fantasy-wallpaper

Sure Landmouse,
Just press and hold down ctrl + alt and while holding those buttons down press and hold left mouse button. You can then release ctrl and alt but continue to hold down left mouse button, move your mouse until you get the desired shot then press print screen. I hope that helps. :) Then you shot should look something like this.

Thanks for the info!

Edit: Very pretty! Do you mind sharing where you get your wallpapers? Your previous desktop was especially lovely...
