Got a new Pioneer DreamBook U11a with Ubuntu for Fathers Day. The screen and keyboard bezels are both a matte, metallic RED colour, so I couldn't leave the desktop green. One thing led to another and now I am running Openbox, xcompmgr and tint2. Icons are Gnome-colors-wine, gtk2 is shiki-wine with the bg colour darkened a little and the openbox theme is Wine Dark, with the buttons replaced. Hope you like!

@ colyn -- nice desktop, did you create the wallpaper?

@cra1g321 -- I will keep Mint 9 Gnome main on my laptop for a while, I have installed that edition on computers for others. So I think I need to keep it as a reference point and to have a way to create AptOnCD disks for my mom who is on 36k dial-up and to provide support for the others. For myself I think I will remove Mint 7 from this laptop and replace it LMDE to run along with Mint 9 Gnome and XP.
SYSTEMS:
HP 15-bw0017cl -- Mint 19.3 Cinnamon
Compaq Presario CQ62 -- Mint 17 Cinnamon (support for 80 y/o family members 1st install)

@colyn & @dawngdoc - yh if i had a laptop i would probaly run the debain edition on it then keep gnome editon on my desktop. i remember having dial-up, when i first had the internet, would take ages to load a video but thought it was to amazing to care about the time. Now i get a half decent broadband connection. (Still not fast enough  )

I installed mint debian on my laptop and the live CD runs good on my desktop but Mint 9 gnome won't run on my desktop. It freezes up within a few seconds. Can't even keep it running long enough to check the error logs..

Hi all,

I've been trying to stick to KDE and Qt apps. I have succeeded for the most part except for the browser... till now. Rekonq is becoming quite a well rounded browser for KDE.
