Thanks Zengeek, sorry for late reply. been off my pc. Zwopper makes AMAZING wallpapers. I wish i could do that, but i have limited gimp skill.

alright, here's my current desktop...using:

- Linux Mint 10, gnome, 64bit (stable)
- ambiance window borders (well, i really like those borders )
- FastForward Icons
- dockbarx (even tho it looks like windows, love it - also installed: cairo-dock and awn; switchin regularly actually)
- comixcursors, white-small

thx man! well, the wallpaper isn't my achievement but kudos to the person who's responsible for this beautiful photo. For anyone interested in this wallpaper, just look for "zenlizard" in google images - should be among the first results!

Kept the panel and dock on the right side, coz vertical space is more important than horizontal space on my 15 inch screen

The wallpaper's by Zwopper and the icons I got from linuxmint art, forgot the name, but is among the most downloaded icon themes. Nothing other than that, pretty standard.

OK, here's my revised clean desktop, it's very close to the default Mint 9 with an added conky.




My dirty desktop adds a music conky and a slightly modified shiki theme with the window borders made thicker so I can grab and resize them more easily, and the close button on the active window coloured red to more easily differentiate the active window from the others.

Ha! I hadn't noticed that. The background is randomly selected when I log in. It's actually a picture I took with my cellphone on the way home from work one day.
