the reason for the 3 menus is sometimes in the Mint menu I cannot find things that easy - I also do not use it that much and could be a reason and also sometimes in Mint Menu I find stuff easier than in the other two. Maybe down the road I will delete one of them. I need all the help i can get I guess. You know - Alzheimer's...

Thank you GrayWizardLinux. I am sorry for the long delay in the reply but I have been trying to figure out what packages I can update from hardy and which ones not too. I have finished and have Linux Mint 4.5. :D

Well not really but I have been able to update quite a few things and all is running will so far. But once again thank you for the complement.

Hey Sakonim, what's with the "Be Careful. Is it Classified?" warning in the corner of your desktop. Oh and cute kitten.

Well, did some Googling, got transparent title bar working with Metacity, and got the panel transparency using CCSM, using XNTricity GTK theme:

MagnusB, can you elaborate a little on this. I'm curious as to what exactly you did. How did you get the glossy look on your task bar?

Transparent title bar:
Open gconf-editor, then change the values of:
/apps/gwd/metacity_theme_opacity
/apps/gwd/metacity_theme_active_opacity
to your liking.
And my panel is transparent as well, you need to open CCSM, go to general options, then the Opacity settings tab and press on new, then add this to it:

Code: Select all

(type=dock | desktop)
I set mine to 56, though the your background really controls this. I am quite pleased with both how my desktop looks and feels now, seems like Compiz has gotten faster in Hardy/Elyssa ;)
