There is no LM9 openbox edition. It was a little joke i made to see if anyone would notice :)

It's really LM9 fluxbox edition.
I was thinking that, but I still don't doubt it.

My Linux Mint 9 with e16 and Chrome theme. This is still a work in progress. I still have some things I would like to work out before I completely switch over.

Thanks, mmesantos1.

You do some interesting work with your desktops. It's a great place for ideas.
I could never make a Gnome or KDE desktop to be comfortable for me though. I guess that's why I prefer the lighter environments and window manager.

I have set up the script and it all works apart form the images. (I have changed the locations to point to my home .scripts directory, but they don't seem to load)
I have checked for output form the terminal and get this:

Code: Select all

Conky: Unable to load image '/home/andy/.scripts/conkytrans/trans.png'
Image
sudo apt-get purge win7 && sudo apt-get install Freedom

Thats weird it should work just like mine. this might be a stupid question but did you create the path correctly as in if u named .scripts folder as script it will not load (cos i have done that b4) also in the script there should be a space between image and the path i.e, like this ${image /home/avish/.scripts/conkytrans/trans.png -p 7,0 -s 300x700}. Also may be try to see if libimlib2 package has been installed on your pc I think that the one used for image loading by conky .I dnt knw I can't think of anything. Honestly speaking you might be a much more advanced linux user than I'm. May be one of the linux gurus can help. sorry mate :(

Have you tried loading any other image or have you used any other conkyrc with a image. In times like these if nothin worked for me I would just remove the conky package completely and re-install conky-all. Anyways good luck with it and let me knw if you find the mistake, i would really like to knw.

Thank you Wallfisher, appreciate it. I can say I have used about every DE out there from KDE, Gnome Classic, Gnome-Shell, Unity, XFCE, Fluxbox, Open Box, E17, LXDE and they all have good points to them, all themeable some more than others but its all about personal preference and what works for you. Its one of the reasons I love Linux so much, you do not have that kind of choice in Windows. I do find my self most fond of Gnome, KDE and E17. Thanks again and looking forward to seeing more of your screenshots. :D
