It's fairly easy, explained here:

edited to add: You can also make it transparent with compiz:

I'm starting to think Compiz is completely useless on Linux Mint. It does nothing :(

Compiz works well on my two machines, a 5 year old laptop and a 7 year old desktop.

I made a quick tutorial video here (sorry if it's a bit blurry):

in 2011: I started taking screenshots of my laptop/desktop just in case i mess up, at this stage in my linux life"150% noob" i belived everything must be reinstalled in order to fix "windows trauma"
I switched 100% to linux around december 2010 (all computers), dedicated ever since, thanks to a blue screen of death on windows 7, i was so carefull, gentle and paranoid and still i got fudged.
enough is enough of this sheet.
did not fully understand redhat linux in store shelfs at the time back in the 90's, the linux seed was planted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice Mindaugas1975 - I like simple (my everyday set up is a plain grey background with a grey theme). Recently inspired to try the 17.2 Cinnamon desktop. It has come a long way since I first tried it a few years ago.

Where can I get a copy of your conky code?

Steve
