On this budget laptop, where I need every pixel of vertical screen real estate I can get, the Xfce vertical deskbar makes the most sense. It is thin, stays out of the way, and looks good, too. It's actually quite colorful, all things considered, but that's not bad. It can look a bit dated, though. Still, a good desktop background anchors that.
Since this is only a testing computer, I just used the first Imperial Boy I could find online. Anyone know the story of how all those different color versions came to be?
