Xbox One or PS4 controller for linux mine?

Post by Sykal » Sun Sep 13, 2015 4:11 am

I'm currently using a wired xbox 360 controller for gaming and it is good. But I keep hearing how the PS4 controller and Xbox one controller are much better as far as feel goes. So I wanted to know how easy they are to setup on Linux Mint 17.2 (assuming they both work) and how well steam games work with them. I was able to link the Wii U Pro controller to mint and it worked really good. But some indie games like DreadOut had buttons mapped in a really crazy way and would not let me set the controller up. So want to find out stuff like this. Thanks for the feedback.
LinuxMint 18.1
AMD 8370, 16GB Ram, GTX 970.

PS4 controller is better than the horrible controllers that came before it but is not better than the 360 controller. Only a fanboy would make such claim.
The XB1 controller is very similar to the 360 one but I don't like the new bumper buttons. Plus it feels to be cheaply built.
I would stick with the 360 controller.
