4 Player in the Living room

Post by Memoox »

Hello everyone...

It's been a while since my last post... but here it goes...

I bought a new PC, that now is my main pc at home, but the previous one is now, for a lack of a better place, in the living room. It's an old but very reliable AMD Athlon 64 X2 3GB RAM 80GB Nvidia 8600 GFX, with a brand new Linuxmint 18 fresh install.

Everyone is amazed at it, I want to use it to play some games with the family and friends. We've got 4 gamepads (we have more actually), but I have no idea what games (preferably native linux) to install. We played Bomberman (SNES) in a windows laptop last week and we liked it.

Can you give me any suggestions?

Thanks in advanced

I am not a gamer, so I am unable to make any recommendations from my own experience, but there is a list of Linux games here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Linux_games

The Valve company now has its Steam game distribution system available for Linux:

http://store.steampowered.com/browse/linux/

Here is the Linux Game Database:

https://lgdb.org/

You will also find a number of games available in Synaptic or Software Manager.

Thanks for the reply..

LGDB seems to me like the WineHQ database... it just tells me if a game is playable or not.

The games Im looking for have to be playable locally... they have to playable in the living room with family members that dont know much of linux or computers.

Any thoughts?

Get a Dreamcast emulator and play Power Stone 2 - it's really fun action game for 4 players :)
