I am getting an OpenGL error in Soldier of Fortune. What could be the problem?

Try using the 'debug' option to start the game with Play On Linux to get a more detailed report of the problem.
After you get that run, copy and paste it here.
I should admit, I personally probably won't know the answer, however there might be someone either here on on the Play On Linux forums that could help you.

Soldier of Fortune has a WineHQ compatibility rating of 'garbage' which leads me to suspect nobody has managed to get it running.

I recently posted a step-by-step guide on Soldier of Fortune for PlayOnLinux: GamersOnLinux

It played really well for me since its an older game and based on the Quake engine.

I never could get overall satisfaction using WINE. I only have one program, Mandelbulb 3D, that works flawlessly with WINE. For my Windows games I prefer running them on XP in Virtual Box.
