How to increase game performace (Linux mint 18.2 cinnamon and nvidia geforce 610m)

Well i have some games on steam. And i'm looking for some tips about increasing performance.

Games i played most on windows and plan to play on linux - Team fortress 2, dota 2.
Of course i will play other games but in most cases they have lesser graphical requirments (mostly 2d sidescrollers)

But well when i play games (tested on team fortress 2 and darkest dungeon) sometimes game gets mini freeezes(lasting like 0,2-0,5 second) per 10 seconds, fps are similar to windows but i wont be mad if some tips will increase some FPS .


Computer is Asus X53S Laptop
CPU is Intel Core i3-2350M CPU @ 2.3GHz
GPU is Nvidia GeForce 610M
Disk is HDD ~ 500 GB
Ram is 8GB
System is Mint 18.2 sonya
And kernel is x86_64 Linux 4.10.0-37-generic

System has installed drivers:
Nvidia driver 375.66 (newest, marked as recommended)
Intel- Microcode 3.20170707


There is any way to increase my gaming performance

Well i already made these speed tweaks. Also with /tmp on tmpfs before installing games.
I love your articles man.

But still i'm looking for more.

you can lower the GL to Performance in nvidia-settings/OpenGL Settings see if that does something. you can test with or without vsync and allow flipping
