Why is there no way to easily minimize a game window?

Post by flatiron »

Sometimes I need to shrink the window for a moment, yet this is made difficult. Why? And how can this be corrected?

What's your desktop environment? Cinnamon has window shading, this might work for you.
this is made difficult. Why?
Most likely on purpose, in order to ruin your day.

Shading rolls up the window, and leaves only the titlebar. It's described here. It's a very easy way to minimize a window.
Take a look at preferences => windows => titlebar. Most themes have a button for shading, beside the common minimize, maximize, and close buttons.
