very low fps cs go nvidia gt 740m

I have Nvidia-384 installed(using the mint 18 driver manager), and I get 20~30 fps in CSGO, which is the only game that I've tried
on Windows 10, I get 90~120 fps on high settings, but on Linux, I get 40 tops

Hi logx7,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum!
It would help to know more about your system setup. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" and "lsusb" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.
What is CSGO?

Counter Strike Global Offensive , its the new version of good old cs 1.6 which is available on steam

u can always check nvidia official websites for newest drivers ( ithink newest one for geforce is nvidia-396) which may help u .
in my case it improved my fps in dota 2 from 70 to 110
using corei7 7700hq - geforce gtx 1050

please follow phd21's suggestion and post system information, and a screenshot from your CS:GO video settings would also help. you should also try some other free games to see if the problem only applies to CS:GO or if it applies to every title.
