New Pentium Processor Plays Many Games

Post by Ozo »

I just got a 2018 NUC7 (NUC7PJYH1) with Intel' Quad Core Pentium Silver processor which is very fast and it will play many games well. See the review below. It is entertaining as well as informative. I paid just $180 for the bare bones unit. 8GB RAM was $90 US. I had a 40 dollar 120GB ssd (Mint19) already so total outlay was $270. Some processors alone cost nearly this much.

This NUC has recent Iris graphics (late 2017) UHD graphics 605 embedded.

It has 2 HDMI ports.

RAM is dual-channel DDR4-2400 (max is 8GB).

The video review below shows games in play with statistis. Wow, all reviews should be like this. It even shows Linux os' are enabled. Statistics rival i3 cpu' and actually match the Q6600 quad statistics of the past.

Has a fan but it is silent and will not run up under load.

Ah yes, I still fondly remember my Q6600... then again I got it several years after its release and soon after it couldn't handle what I was throwing at it. On a tangent and semi-related note I was impressed when I got myself a Steelseries Sensei gaming mouse, it has a processor built in which is equivalent to a Pentium 90
