[Steam+Proton] Skyrim Special Edition issues

Post by XXXBold » Fri Jun 07, 2019 3:52 pm

Hello there

I'm trying to get Skyrim SE working on my Mint 19.1 System using Steam and Proton (v4.2.6)

So far, it's not too bad, I've needed to change a few things & install (protontricks: https://github.com/Matoking/protontricks, FAudio: https://github.com/Kron4ek/FAudio-Builds)

But I'm still having some more issues:

***FIXED - I can't use Dual wield, it seems somehow that activating left+right mouse keys at the same time does nothing. However, when I use a shield and I'm blocking (Hold down right mouse key) I can bash (Click on left mouse key). Is it possible that my mouse keys are not redirected/read correctly?

***Managed to fix this: In the mint Mouse & Touchpad menu, disable that clicking both mouse keys emulates a middle click.

- In Skyrim, there's an option to open a console, which gives you a lot of options to interact with the game (e.g. spawn/despawn Stuff, change FOV etc.).
Usually, there's a key bound to show/hide the console, but this doesn't work for me. I've used windows before (same system) with the same keyboard layout (German, Switzerland) and on windows the key worked (it's the key below ESC (§)). I'm using the openrazer driver (Razer Black widow ultimate 2013) but stopping it seems not to change this (see https://openrazer.github.io/). I've tried hitting other keys aswell, but none is bringing up the console.
I can also not install mods to get an enhanced keymap configuration because SKSE64 is not working (see below) and honestly I also don't want to install a mod for just changing this key...

- Unfortunately, SKSE64 is also not working for me, it's terminating initialisation with this (skse64.log):

Code: Select all

SKSE64 runtime: initialize (version = 2.0.15 01050490 01D51D69558353C6, os = 6.1 (7601))
imagebase = 0000000140000000
reloc mgr imagebase = 0000000140000000
couldn't allocate trampoline, no free space before image
couldn't create branch trampoline. this is fatal. skipping remainder of init process.
- And, another (minor) one: In the loading screens, I cannot move the objects around with my mouse.

Systeminfo

Code: Select all

I've had some issues with Proton 4.2.6, have you tried a previous version?

Yes, I started with 4.2.5 (4.2.6 was released just 2 or 3 days ago), and I had the same problems there.

I think this may require specialists. I recommend visiting The Proton Database Discord server, and posting in the proton-game-support channel.

Okay,I'll have a look at it, thank you.
BTW I managed to fix the DW-Bug: In the Mouse menu (from Mint) I had to disable that clicking both Mouse keys emulates a middle click...
