Possible Windows Steam exploit. Does it apply to Mint?

Post by Bazile » Wed Aug 07, 2019 9:26 pm

Hi folks;

My 1st post. I admit that I know little to nothing about Linux. I've gotten as far as i have by reading topics on this community. This seems very disturbing since I want to play games on linux.

Haha, brilliant, I knew there was a good reason why I always blocked Steam's system service from installing on my Windows box. They day I'd give a game system/root privileges has yet to dawn.

Anyway, the whole thing doesn't apply to Linux though for the Linux client has no system service (shows you how unnecessary it is) and does not request root privileges in other ways, either (for now).
