Minecraft Java edition, RAM usage tweaks

My PC runs on Linux Mint xfce, with a dual core pentium processor (G2010) and 3.7GiB ram. I have weeded out most of the widgets and background apps and the system utilizes about 400-600MiB ram in resting state which seemed good enough for me.
Now then I started Minecraft with my Task Manager (60MiB) turned on. I have stated the results below {leaving out the mem. consumed by desktop and background apps}:
Launcher 300MiB
Game menu intro 800MiB
In Game 1.2GiB to 1.7GiB and 60% to 97% processor use.
Every 20min the RAM usage increased by .1GiB, most likely cause I was foraging and moving around.
Well, is this good or I can try some hacks to bring down the RAM usage?
