WIndows games

Post by asteroth »

I've been playing LOA3, league of angels 3, on another system and would like to play it on mint. Is that possible and if so how?

While gaming on Linux is continuallyu getting better, there is no guarantee that a Windows game will be able to work.

Online games in particular tend to have issues (usually related to anti-cheat). Or if they do work, there is a risk of being banned (because they think you're cheating).

I've never heard of LOA.

Usually a few good places to start to see if your game is compatible are:

https://www.protondb.com (particularly if it is a Steam game)

If it is on Steam, use the Steam Linux installer and set the program to use Steam Proton, most of the windows games work fairly well if not perfectly on Proton. It's basically a wrapper that Steam supports and is continually improving. The Protondb website rates the games from bronze to platinum for linux compatibility. Now as far as Windows non-steam games, a regular wrapper would be needed and I find those to be hit or miss.
