What's your favorite game of all time?
Mine is EarthBound. Mainly because I love RPGs and because of its quirky humor, gameplay and overall weirdness. In fact, EarthBound started my fascination with weird/trippy/hallucinogenic/surreal/psychedelic games.

Can't pick just one...
"Empire - Wargame of the Century"
"Ultima VI"
"Robotron: 2084"
"Tempest"
"Baldur's Gate I"
Almost forgot..."Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" - text-based, for the Apple II.

Probably the original Tomb Raider which got me into action adventure games with puzzles involved too. The rest of the series and the recent reboot has wasted many hours of my life
Alicia Vikander is awesome as Lara too in the newer Tomb Raider film and there's apparently a sequel in the works.
The first two movies with Angelina were pretty poor in comparison but at the time I enjoyed them because Angelina...

Ever since I got it on launch day, my favorite game has been Portal 2. Such fun puzzles, and the story is best in class. Runs great on basically any PC as well!
In no particular order, here are some other favorites: Minecraft, Portal 1, Grand Theft Auto V, Life is Strange, and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

My favorite quarter-eater was Defender. These days I am happy with Mahjongg and Sudoku.

Another good game. Used to play it when I went to Big Wheel with my parents (or tagged along with anybody else). Way before Defender or Pac-Man, they had an arcade game called Death Race which for the time was pretty good.BenTrabetere wrote: ⤴Sat Nov 21, 2020 1:15 am My favorite quarter-eater was Defender. The original Need For Speed is still one of my favourites. Jane's USAF was a blast too, landing on an aircraft carrier in the dark during a storm was challenging.

'Favourite of all time' is a big word, but I've played a whole lot of Tetris. And nowadays, I really enjoy Zaz.
Another game that ate up days of my time: Chronomaster.

Adventure - After a long time, completed it with 350 out of 350 points. Many years ago. Started playing it using a teletype connected by acoustic modem.
DOOM - Played it with my teenaged children (at that time). We'd build custom levels and blast away.
Operation Flashpoint - Spent too much time on this one (according to the wife).
Far Cry - The last game I really played.

RTS: World In Conflict. I still play through it about once a year. I wonder if wine could run it ...?
RPG: Planescape: Torment. Still only one ending I know, so NO SPOILERS!!
MMORPG: Guild Wars. runs like a charm on wine.
... etc. pp.

Re: What's your favorite game of all time?
PC: Morrowind, Diablo
Console: Final Fantasy 7 The Very First Version(PS), Super Mario RPG(SNES), Robotrek(SNES).
I could list so many retro rpg games that I loved, I could never settle on just one.

I'm going to have to go really old school. Chess.

I've been quite surprised at the lack of a Blackjack game in Linux.
I did find one here Blackjack on SourceForge. However, it appears to be out-of-date (2014) for Linux, at least Mint 20.1.
Blackjack used to be available on Gnome-Games. It is no longer available for some unknown reason.
