Steam blank login screen

I upgraded to Mint 19.3 Cinnamon (from 18.3), reinstalled Steam. Now login screen has no characters.

Fonts like Arial are installed on my system and visible in others applications.

When I start it from the command line, this it the output:

I found a similar problem in others forums on the Internet, but unfortunately, those thread are not "SOLVED"....
I reinstalled Steam in 3 different ways (steam package, steam-launcher package, .deb file on their website). Same problem.
I reinstalled MS fonts package (ttf-mscorefonts-installer). Same problem.
I reinstalled libatk-adaptor and libgail-common. Same problem.

Any ideas ?

I had to install the flatpak version. Only the flatpak version works.
Also, on another user account on the same computer, Steam works (the one installed from the Software Manager).

my suggestion would be you forgot to add the

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

and

Code: Select all

sudo apt update

steams fonts need 32-bit libraries to show-up
