Im wondering if there is anywhere that tells you what the different proton versions include (aka based on win7 graphics card X)
so far my testing has found
- proton 5.13 useless for this game doesnt launch
- proton 5.0.10 gets to the campaign screen (pressing proceed goes black)
- proton 4.11.xx gets to the campaign screen (pressing proceed goes black)

also wondering if i should downgrade nvidea driver to 390 or something

To properly run steam games with proton, I recommend you check the user reports on protondb.com:

https://www.protondb.com/app/544610

You can find techniques that they used to run the game in the best way. One user for example used a popular modified version of proton, called proton GE, specifically 5.11-GE-3-MF (On their github page it is explained how to install these custom versions on your steam: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/prot ... tom#native).

For games that you don't run from steam, I recommend you install those games with lutris: https://lutris.net/games

Linux gaming has improved enormously, however, as Linux users we must provide reports in protondb, lutris and issues in their respective github, so that this problem decreases until we even surpass windows in gaming if possible.

yeh i have looked at protondb.....

the odd thing is ive found potential suucess with some games alot different to protondb's lists.......

this is why i was wondering if there was a way to find out if proton version 4.x was say based on win xp and version 5.10 on win10 or proton 5.9 based on win7??

as an example i see people saying Far Cry Primal now works with 5.13 but it doesnt for me.....
