Eve Online

Post by WindowsRefugee »

Hi all, not going to beg, lol...
I really want to get away from windows, I've spent ten hours today, no kidding trying to get Eve Online working with Mint.
I love Mint, it's way faster and cleaner than Windows.
I don't mind trying to get to grips with terminal.
But I just give up...
I've tried Snorlax solution, Lutris, Steam with Proton, etc, ten hours pulling my hair out, that's just today, lol
I'm not daft, I've worked with computers for years.
I really have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
I have a decent PC, AMd FX 6 core with Nvidia GeForce, all perfect with Mint, just no Eve, whatever I try.

If anyone can help I'd be grateful.

Thanks,

Peter.

Hey I think I can help you try to download proton though version 5.0-10. that's what I do when I can't play Eve Online. No need Terminal or other configuration though. But keep in mind that be carefull on updating the EVE launcher itself ok! sometimes it breaks and you can't launch it

Go to software manager
Download Wine and wine tricks
After that go to https://lutris.net
Follow the instructions there
Download the game in lutris and good to go.
Hopefully that gets you back on o7
