'Solved' Wine: Game Items Stuck in Menu

Post by Qurcus »

I installed Wine and some old games from DVD's. Whenever I install a game from the disk they install a bunch crap that doesn't need to be in the Menu. In the past i just right clicked on the item, hit the uninstall selection, enter password, and that would take it out of the Menu. For some reason with Mint 20 it does not remove the item listed. I also tried 'configure' with right click on 'Menu > Menu' & then 'Open the Menu Editor' but those Items do not show up in there - only the Wine stuff.

What other way is there to remove unwanted item from the Menu ?

I figured it out. I'm not sure if this menu works a little differently as in the past or not. Uninstall will not work to get rid of the Menu items but I had to use the edit under the left Menu portion of the Menu under the 'Applications' section in the 'Open the Menu Editor' rather than the right portion listed as 'Show Items'. There is a little > arrow next to Wine in the left Menu edit with a drop down menu that list the 'Programs' - I never noticed this before. Those unwanted items don't show up in 'Show Items' until I clicked on 'Programs' and then all the stuff installed in Wine will show afterwards. I had unselect each unwanted item in each program to get rid of them. The more programs and the more unwanted items --> the longer it takes.
