Ubisoft launcher Frustrations and quirks on steam [updated]

Ubisoft Uplay/ Ubisoft Connect launcher included games

when you havent played a specific game in awhile: (time limit for me in this case would be around 2 weeks, so maybe shorter)
- games have a bad habit of losing files and needing verification (sometimes re-install required)
- need to copy and paste a working ubisoft folder from "programs x86" directory into a non-working one ( Far Cry Primal is known for this )
- ubisoft launcher update can break game / password log-in
- you may need to reset password, to regain access to a game
- off-line mode (when successful inital log-in occurs ) may stop you from getting some extra's/ bonuses
- may get told you cant play game in off-line mode
- when successful log-in occurs best to minimise your notifications ( aka friends etc in ubisoft launcher)
- make sure to have " remember me " ticked

+1 Ubi connect on Mint is a bit of a mess.I'm sure it'll get better though.

SO after talking to steam

Far Cry 3 now working

BLOOD DRAGON
- is only campaign mode
- game will appear to freeze while searching for ubisoft servers ( they no longer exist for this game )

this applies to Far Cry 3 and Blood dragon
- several uninstall and re-installs maybe required.
- 46 file corruptions
- D3D11.exe issue

1) install / re-install using proton experimental ( likely to give you d3d11 issue )
2) change proton version to 6.3.8
3) check to make sure on launching game that you see
- direct x installing
- visual studio installing
( without these 2 items popping up on first launch you can pretty much guarantee a failed install )

suggest changing " always update " updates to " update on launch "
