Minecraft Java Edition New Rules for Server chats

Post by cretsiah »

So anyone here running Minecraft servers open to public?

you might want to take a look at

https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article ... hot-22w24a

https://youtu.be/rdoFUhd0EkI

i bring this up due to the idea that if privately owned servers cant control this

you could ( in time ) suddenly find you know longer have access to

- microsoft games
- bestheda games
- your windows desktop if you still use it

what are your thoughts???

This is what happens when Microsoft tries to make a monopoly on the US gaming market. They want control of everything in the US gaming sector (not if Tencent snatches this market first). I stopped playing Minecraft for this reason. Bethesda is a whole other issue, as unlike Blizzard, it was a hostile takeover. Like Blizzard, it's illegal in the sense of monopolistic practices that should be shut down by the FTC.

I think it will be a problem for Microsoft if they choose to limit use if MC servers don't comply. There are A LOT of linux MC servers, mine for one that aren't going to allow MS to snoop in my stuff.
