Runs very well though it locks FPS to my screen refresh (144hz). Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon. Saw how much is involved and left it after that. Maybe after I retire

Doesn't matter at this point, since I cannot even get it to run on Windows. I keep getting the VC_runtimeMinimum_X86.msi error and apparently this can never be installed properly. Aggravating.

Yeah I tried it and I read the articles earlier it’s just not installing and stellaris will not run without that stupid little redistributable C++ and there is no way to figure out where it’s supposed to go

probably a bit dated now but how are you trying to run stellaris?

1) you trying to use proton and if so why?

2) how many parts have you got? ( i only have the original base pack + horizon signal )

i havent played it in awhile,

but i have a big blue " install " button which i just clicked on.....

im using LMDE 5 so i will let you know what happens after it installs

update still working here on my amd fx 8320 + 16 gig ram + rx5708gig graphics card

Managed to get it working, but it is a kludge, I have to go in and right click telling the Stellaris file to run as administrator before it will work.

I picked Stellaris up on Steam a while back when Steam had a flash sale. I have not played much (8 hours), but it seems to work just fine. I am not very good, the AI wipes me out pretty fast, maybe if I played it more I would get better.
