I have my sources.list set as

Code: Select all

deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest testing main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/security testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/multimedia testing main non-free
but when running sudo apt-get update I get the following error

Code: Select all

Release file for http://debian.linuxmint.com/latest/dists/testing/InRelease is expired (invalid since 42d 17h 1min 33s). Updates for this repository will not be applied.
and the update won't continue

Any ideas?

hi,
it's not a normal error, but it happens :)
see here http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=187&t=76556 (in the known issues)

Thanks

Does this workaround mean that I will miss some updates, or will the error correct itself over time?

hi posco,
if you apply that fix the error message should go away and your updates work normally.
it's something that should be there in the first place, somehow is not, that's why you are applying the fix. after that all should be fine.
