Hi All,
I just installed LMDE today and don't see a trash icon on my Gnome desktop. Also, am I now running gnome 3 by default?
Thanks for your help and patience.

Re: Where's my trash icon?
Did you install the XFCE or MATE/Cinnamon version? Assuming you're using the MATE/Cinnamon one, you are running MATE, a fork of Gnome 2. Cinnamon is the other option installed by default (on the mint login screen, click on session to choose which one you're booting into). It is based of Gnome 3.lunaquas wrote:Hi All,

Re: Where's my trash icon?
Thanks for the reply. Yes, after checking... I'm using Mate and actually prefer it over the new gdm3 fork Cinnamon. Still looking for my trash icon. I'm used to using gconf-editor but the selection "show trash icon" is no longer available. Thoughts?
Thanks,

I don't use mate, but I found this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=980156
It looks like there's a mateconfeditor that does what you're looking for!
