Target filesystem doesn't have requested /sbin/init
No init found. Try passing init= boottarg.

Dear community total newbie here. I have installed and used Olivia on our laptop and it all went text book perfect. I couldn't find the same disc I used before so downloaded the latest torrent for the debian version of Mint. I presume Petra. Installation also looked slightly different to the first one. It didn't seem to let me do a partition so I ended up formatting the disc. On the initial start up after install I can't get past the above^ dialogue. I did another format and install off the disc but it still stops here so I assume it is hardware conflict of some kind but really have no idea. Hoping some one is around who can help me get my computer working again. TIA

I found the original Olivia 15 (non Debian) disc and installed this along side the LMDE and it installed perfectly and runs perfectly. I went to the LM site to down load a new torrent of the LMDE and when the torrent was about to start there was a message saying that there were invalid files. Could it be that my LMDE disc has invalid files and that is why I cannot run it or boot it? I'd still quite like to run it as the Debian edition so is there a work around this?
