LMDE MATE, 201403 all updated as of 3-Jun-2014

I added a keyboard shortcuts and wanted to add some more - functionality is very nice!.

I clicked: menu > preferences > keyboard shortcuts

Keyboards shortcut program does not start even after logout and login and restarting the machine.

What can I do?

What is a the terminal command?

In XP I could search the program folder for the exe-file and started a program. I which folder do I find the programs and the equivalent to an MS windows exe-file?
