Time measures different between LMDE1 & LMD2 (after upgrade)

Post by postfrm »

Hello,

I have done some measures to compare some elements after an upgrade of LMDE 1 to LMDE. on 2 machines it's quite the same measures, but on 2 others LMDE 2 is slower than LMDE 1 (64bits editions).

I have compared:
- the time boot, from Grub menu to the login panel.
- the time to open a session, from login panel to the desktop completely launched.
- the time to launch Firefox.
- the time to launch Thunderbird.
- the time to launch LibreOffice Writer.
- the time to launch Gimp.
- ...

The differences are clearly identified on the first items.

An idea?

Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify, the boot time and the time to open the session has grown significantly on two machines after the upgrade from LMDE 1 to LMDE 2 (and not on a poor machine).

An idea or some checks to do?
