NOOB Question about upgrade

Post by merc1973 » Sun Jan 24, 2016 11:50 pm

I would like to finally upgrade to LMDE2 from LMDE.

How do I go about viewing the Repository file in terminal (/etc/apt/sources.list.d/official-package-repositories.list)?

And then to change it ti the Betsy repository?

Code: Select all

deb http://packages.linuxmint.com betsy main upstream import
deb http://http.debian.net/debian jessie main contrib non-free
deb http://http.debian.net/debian jessie-updates main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org jessie/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org jessie main non-free
deb http://extra.linuxmint.com betsy main

Simply by execute

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/official-package-repositories.list

With gedit you can manage all the files in the main format (maybe only in cinnamon where gedit is present!)

Hope this is helpful.

If using Mate substitute "pluma" for "gedit". Or you can simply install gedit from software manager. Or use whatever text editor you'd like.
