Well I just switched on my laptop and it asked me to update. The update was the removal of open office and installation of libre office. I guess the op had been heard. Lol.

Sent from my Desire HD pocket rocket.

Dear elav,

Could you kindly once again show the way to this lazy forum fellow? I presume I need to uninstall the version from Ubuntu's ppa, right? After deleting or commenting out the relevant lines from "sources.list" do I need add any specific repo? And after that, to which object should I direct "sudo aptitude install"? "openoffice" or "libreoffice" or something else? Thanks a million in advance!

Estimate:
All you need do is activate the Debian repositories Wheezy (Testing). Below I put my sources.list. Now, go to Synaptic "Preferences" Distribution and version from the option Prefer: pick Testing and Wheezy, as you put.

Now you just have to update and install LibreOffice through Synaptic or command:

Code: Select all

$ sudo aptitude install libreoffice-base libreoffice-common
Sure, if you uninstall previous versions even better.

My source.list

Code: Select all

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import backport romeo

When using LMDE set to 'testing' ... there is no need to upgrade or change to using LibreOffice.

With todays updates, the Package Manager automatically removed OpenOffice and installed LibreOffice to my LMDE.
