Screen fails to initialize after xrandr switch

Post by plantperson »

Hi all,
I've been using the following xrandr commands to switch between my laptop and external screens:

Code: Select all

xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto
xrandr --output VGA1 --off
(and vice-versa)
This worked fine until a recent software update. Since the update, if I run the commands the configuration is switched, and the original screen shuts off, but the new screen does not turn on. I can get it to turn on by ctrl+alt+f* to a different console and back again, but I'd prefer if it could just do it automatically like it used to. Does anyone know a way to correct this?
Thanks for any suggestions.

New data: The screen only has problems after the system has been put into suspend at least once. After bootup xrandr still works fine, but if the system has been suspended it has this problem.
