When gnome 3.2 will be available in debian testing. But you can have it now, if you switch your repos to sid and do some tweaks.

No, afaik the debian philosophy is - it is so far if it so far is.

As gnome3.0 users (ie. LMDE) are missing out on so much compared to gnome 3.2 (extensions mainly). I thought it worth installing a new distro alongside lmde to use until it catches up. This gives me all the benefits of gnome 3.2 and allows me to learn a bit about configuring it before it appears on lmde. If you are a Mint user then Mint 12 is the obvious choice, although I fancied a change of scene and went for Fedora - they are both good. I hardly use LMDE now because the 3.0 shell is so inferior to 3.2 version.

Of course how long you have to wait to get shell 3.2 on LMDE depends on which repos you are tracking. If you are tracking testing you will get it a lot sooner than if you are on the default 'latest' repos because not only does it have to go through the debian system, it is then released into the Mint system which means it goes to testing first (at the same time as it gets into debian testing), then incoming then latest. How long that takes depends on how busy the mint devs are with other projects.

Basically, nobody knows, but don't hold your breath.

Edit. Having just read that back to myself, it suddenly struck me that if you are using the default lmde, you haven't even got the 3.0 shell (only those tracking testing or sid have it). I will say that I believe Clem is right about one thing here, there is no point in releasing gnome-shell 3.0 into the default lmde, you might as well wait and get the far more configurable 3.2 version.
