This seems like it should be simple, but I've already spent half the day on it.
I tried gnome-sound-recorder, but it lacked a "pause" feature. If the phone rings while making a recording, there's nothing you can do except end the recording and begin a part 2 later on.
Audacity still can't export in SPX.
How do I create an SPX file?
Thanks,
Bob

Re: How to record an SPX file?
Sounds like you want the Gnac application. http://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu-lin ... nac-linux/
Re: How to record an SPX file?
Hmm, can't seem to add the PPA.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
p.s. I'm using LMDE/Gnome/Latest if that matters.
Code: Select all

LMDE (and Debian) doesn't support PPAs. You will have to look for an alternative way to install Gnac. Perhaps the homepage has pointers on this: http://gnac.sourceforge.net/

Re: How to record an SPX file?
You can always choose another recorder program
http://helpdeskgeek.com/linux-tips/easi ... -recorder/
http://pacpl.sourceforge.net/downloads.html
http://linuxappfinder.com/package/speex
--an spx file encoder/decoder (command line)

- That's usually my first looksee when something isn't quite working..
