Update download speed so slow

i have 100 mbps internet connection and i chose the best pinged repository from software sources. i am in denmark but there was no mirror for denmark so it chose a german one, which is fine. however when i am updating i see extreme slow speeds: http://i.imgur.com/jnquO.png

the update manager uses debian.linuxmint.com despite i chose a way faster one.

(this really sucked as it is my first time trying this distro)

you have 2 issues here:
1- the d/l speed of the mint mirrors: usually it's fairly good but sometimes (and i see it as well lately) slows down; you've done what you could choosing the best mirror;
2- the changes in your repos (as you posted in your second post) would only break your system in the long run: you are removing the debian repos and keeping only the mint one; furthermore you have to change repos, yes, but according to this http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=185&t=82346 (all 3 debian repos have to be mirrored)
