Linux Mint And Virtual Box

Post by Divided_Duo55 »

Hi I would like to download virtualbox to my linux mint operating system.

I don't know whether to use debian or ubuntu because linux mint is not an option. Please help with which file to use and the commands to use in terminal.

This depends from the version of Mint you are using. You did not tell this. If you don't know open a terminal and enter:

Code: Select all

inxi -Sz
Paste the output here.

I diasgree. The version in the Mint repos is sorely out of date.

Refer to this thread, the last post:

Also I would remove the virtualbox guest modules that Mint installs by default in a standard install before doing anything. They serve no purpose:

Code: Select all

sudo apt purge virtualbox*

Return to “Virtual Machines”
