After Mint Cinnamon 18.1 update no USB on Virtualbox desktop

Post by akabanekuroido »

The story: I use virtualbox (50.032) for my adminitration. I emulate Mac Snow 64 bits. I use a
Virtualbox VDI virtual disk.
Suddenly Virtualbox did not show the USB sticks on the emulated (Mac) desktop anymore. In the virtualbox menu it does show its activated.

What I did do solve the problem:
I installed an older Virtualbox version on two different computers. I used different USB 2.0. and 3.0 sticks and formated them on different computers to make sure the USB sticks are not the problem.
I made a new Mac VDI disk.
I installed older and newer Mint Cinnamon version of different computers.

All these things did not work.
The problem started after the last Mint update somewhere beginning of februar 2017.
On computers who were not updated, Virtualbox has no problems showing the USB sticks correctly on the desktop.
Does anybody suffer from the same problem, or does anyone know how to slove this issue?

What hardware do you use for the Mint host?

The license of Apple does not allow to install OS X on anything else than Apple hardware. Support ends here, according the forum rules and my conviction.
