Post by callmejoe »

i have virtualbox 5.1.34 on linux mint 18.3, kernel 4.15.0-15

i have a bunch of guest OS's set up and when i start just selecting each one (not even starting them), the virtualbox manager window just closes.

anyone else ever see this?

I haven't seen that, but your VB version seems to be out of date to me.

VirtualBox Graphical User Interface
Version 5.2.10 r122088 (Qt5.6.1)

This is the current version.

I suggest you purge the existing VB and reinstall direct from Oracle.

all of your VMs will stay put, no problem doing this.

No, 5.1 is still in active maintenance. Actually the current version is 5.1.36, but I doubt, that updating the version will solve the problem. (I do not say to stay with 5.1.34.)

Are you able to create and user a fresh new VM?
