Hello,
I'm running VirtualBox from the main repo and the interface resolution is really tiny
Running with Cinnamon edition 3840x2160, as you can see from the screenshot the interface is ok
I remember few days ago (before I decided to keep only one installation) it was readable in KDE, maybe it's doing some magic in qt settings I cannot identify.
Any hints?

I would like to know how to make the menu fonts larger myself. The tiny fonts are hard for my old eyes to read.

try menu > preferences > general and change the user interface scaling (assuming you are running cinnamon). Select double and it makes everything bigger.
