Installed VM 5.1.34. Selected "New". Only 32 bit options are shown. Please advise.

...go into your BIOS, enable VT-x support first.

Nope, no further action needed.
Do note that some very older 64-bit systems though might not have support for VT-* technologies...
(ie. i blindly assumed that most likely you are not on something from say 2004...)

I will need to look it up. My memory is older than the laptop. Well after 2004 tho. Thank you for the time, attention, and knowledge.

BTW, a friend of mine Don Pedro (?) Collie. Probably wrong. ....played the big black guy in THX 1138.
The T6400 does not have VT.
I just need to do a few occasional things with Win. till I find my way around in Mint. Vbox is offering to install Win 10 32 Bit. Can I do that?
