Error code 0x80070570 installing Windows 10

Post by yertchuk » Sun Oct 14, 2018 2:23 pm

Virtualbox 5.2.10 running on Linux Mint. Installation of W10 goes OK until towards the end of 'getting files ready for installation'. Then I get the error code with an explanation that some files cannot be found. I've downloaded the iso several times from Microsoft, with the same result. Also tried the latest version of VB downloaded from the Oracle site.

Previously I had this working perfectly, but for various reasons I had to reinstall Linux Mint. I had exported the VM but for some reason it didn't restore properly, hence the need to reinstall.

Any ideas? Thanks!

This seems to be a issue with windows itself, less likely your VIrtual software
i don't think a linux forum is where you should be posting, try windows 10 forums first with that code? or maybe try a older ISO

Install without internet connection (disable lan) and give all the video-memory and enough space in the VirtualBox settings.

To do this, follow these steps:

Load the installer of Windows 10.
Choose your language, and then click Next.
On the lower left corner, click Repair your computer.
Select Troubleshoot, and then choose Advanced options.
Click Command Prompt.
Type mdsched.exe, and then press Enter.
Choose Restart now and check for problems (recommended).
Take note of the result of the tool after it finish running.
