Hello,

Hoping someone can tell me if this is possible using VMware Converter when the target is a VMware ESXi 5.5 host?

I have a LM install that is only a couple versions back running on a HP Z400 desktop. I'd like to convert it to a VM using VMware Converter and have a VMware ESXi 5.5 host that I want to deploy it to.

Another coworker of mine tried, first asking me how to enable direct root logins and after I told him, came back later and told me it wouldn't be possible because Linux Mint doesn't use the grub boot loader. Excuse my ignorance but I thought LM uses the grub2 boot loader doesn't it?

I found this post so I believe this should be possible as long as the destination is a VMware ESXi host:
