Mint Mate boot display too small until reboot

Post by drjim » Sun Jan 20, 2019 2:46 pm

I'm running Linux Mint Mate vs 19 on a Windows 10 Host through virtual box. When I start Mint the display is only about half the size of the screen. If I reboot Mint, it comes back full size. As a result, every time I start Mint, I have to start it twice before I can use it. I had Ubuntu and Mint Cinnamon on VB before this and they booted the first time with a full-size display but they used too much resources and were too slow.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim

I'm running win 7 in v-box with Mint Cinnamon as the host and have the same problem. Hit f11 to go full screen and it just blacks out the area surrounding the Win 7 display and does not expand it. I haven't tried the reboot trick but will after this post. I'm not any help to you but maybe someone will come along that can! :)

Hello,

I'm running win 10 in VMware with Mint Cinnamon 19.1 as the host and I was facing same problem before. Hit F4 to go full screen and it just blacks out the area surrounding the Win 10 display and it will expand.

Thanks

Sharur
