Quick Update: I went back into BIOS/UEFI and chose "other OS" rather than Windows Secure boot and then retried after repairing bootloader, and now it is working as per that link and instructions. Thank you!!!

in your screen_shot of that Error (rc=-1908)
- - it does tell you what to do:

Code: Select all

sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
type that, in the Terminal Box in your LinuxMint System
:)
when you do that .. is there any further error ?

Well, thanks to everyone here and your patient guidance, it is sorted now. It is annoying how Windows Secure Boot makes headaches even if you don't use Windows. I guess when I reset my UEFI to defaults months ago, it restored that and disabled Intel VM support and on top of having to fix them, I had to restore, twice, the bootloader and then I had to run those command line strings as suggested.

All's well that ends well, but I didn't get enough sleep now.
