We have Linux Mint on multiple VPS servers, Mint 19 works fine, but the later installs periodically crash due to some weird X11 software video driver configuration issues. Mint 20.2 on a Dedicated Server works fine with NoMachine, perfect in fact, but we can't scale a dedicated server like we can a VPS. As it is, anything Java based that we launch, like PyCharm, just shows a red box where the GUI would be rendered for the application, so something is for sure misconfigured. But older Java using applications work, but sometimes cause the OS to crash.
What is the optimal configuration to get the latest Mint to play nice on a VPS in a software video driver environment?
